Wendy's Lady Dior. Wendy Osefo brought a classic to lunch. Her bag looks like a Lady Dior in a cream or latte shade, with the house's Cannage stitching, rounded top handles and gold-tone hardware at the handle rings. Going by its size on the chair, it looks like the Medium, in Cannage lambskin rather than the embroidered or raffia versions. Dior lists the Medium Lady Dior in Latte Cannage Lambskin at $6,700. It's the kind of bag that does all the talking, so the rest of the outfit doesn't have to.
Tia's straw box bag. Tia Glover took a bag with a lot of personality to the tulip farm: a tall woven straw box with a lid flap, a small tan leather tab closure and a tan leather top handle on a light-gold buckle. No logo faced the camera, so this one goes in the "look we love" file rather than the ID file. Against a red strapless top and red floral pants, the natural straw is exactly the right calm note. To borrow the look, a structured straw bag with a fold-over flap and a top handle gets closest. For something sleeker, Givenchy's Nano Facet pairs woven straw with leather trim in a structured shape.
Karen's Birkin. Karen Huger saved the exotics for the party. Stepping out of the car in a flowing blue-grey printed dress and purple pumps, she carried what looks like an Hermès Birkin in blue ostrich, the quill texture unmistakable even in passing, with gold hardware on the turn-lock and straps. By its size against her, it looks like a 30. Brand-new ostrich Birkins rarely sit on a shelf, so resale is the realistic route: Madison Avenue Couture currently has a Birkin 25 in Bleu Glacier ostrich with gold hardware at $48,500, a slightly lighter blue in the smaller size. Purple shoes, blue ostrich, gold hardware. The Grand Dame doesn't do subtle, and nobody's asking her to.
